A sample from a friend (sometimes life is just awesome)-

Nose: Lemon, waxy, some light coal and diesel fuel. Ginger, apple, white wine. This is all elegant, and just the slightest element of smoke. Olives, and a little coastal/salty clam shells. Delicious stuff.

Palate: Honey and pear on entry, but it quickly turns to that great smoky, peaty quality. Lemon, dry and slightly bitter walnuts. Vegetal. Candied ginger. Elegant and relatively light. Very well composed. Humus/mushrooms?

Finish: Lighter in some ways with the waxy fruit, wine, and honey - at the same time, the peat is all the more obvious at first. It's the great diesel fuel of a classic Brora. A-

I've tasted this one. The best speysider I've ever tasted. Possibly the only whisky I've had that was comparable to sex. The finish went on for miles and miles and miles....,
