This is only my second Deanston. I had a bottle of the 18 which I enjoyed. The colour on this is fantastic for a naturally coloured whisky. A really bright yellow gold. I wonder if they've done something interesting with their Barley choices?

Nose

Fruity. Lemons and a hint of pineapple. Also a slight cough sweet note.

Palate

Barley rich. Tropical and citrus fruits again. Some honey and granola.

Finish

Is medium length, drying, oaky and a little wood sour.

Overall

Not hugely complex but what it does, it does confidently. Seriously good whisky for the price in the UK (£35-40). In terms of 'bang for your buck' this scores 10/10. I will be buying a couple of bottles at that price. One to open. One to stash for opening in the future.
