Whisky Connosr is a social network for people just like you. Creating a profile is free and only takes a minute. Why not join now?

But lets face it, it's not cheap, so what does the Whisky Show have that other shows don't and why do we think it's unmissable?

The ultra premium whiskies on offer

The ultra premium whiskies on offer

Probably best explained from a quote we have from one of the exhibitors "if we don't bring our finest whiskies we may as well not turn up." This really is your chance to try some of the finest and rarest whisky on the planet at no extra cost. If you choose carefully you'll easily drink the equivalent of the admission price!

At least year's show the ultra premium drams included (to name a few):

Ardbeg 1976, Auchentoshan 1978, Balblair 1965, Glenfarclas 50 year old, Glenglassaugh 40 year old, Hibiki 30 year old, Highland Park 40 year old and Macallan 1938 65 year old.

The organisers are confident that the drams being poured this year will be no less illustrious. One lucky ticket will even get to taste The Dalmore 64 Trinitas - the most expensive whisky in the world.

The substantial ticket price is actually a good thing

It may not be cheap to attend but the cost means that the clientele are all serious about whisky, this is a classy event not a cheap way to get drunk. The limited number of tickets also means that visitors have more time at each stand to talk to exhibitors, to sample and learn about the whiskies.

This year's line up is even better than last year

All the big names will be there from Scotland, Ireland and Japan with over 75 whisky brands exhibiting. New for this year are Bruichladdich, Glenfiddich, Springbank, BenRiach and GlenDronach.

Oh, and did we mention that Whisky Connosr have a stand too?

The masterclasses

The masterclasses

Two of the masterclasses, "Clynelish v Brora" with Malt Maniac Serge Valentin and "The Ultimate Dalmore Masterclass" with Richard Paterson, sold out within 24 and 48 hours respectively. Consequently the organisers have added the "Diageo Managers Choice" with Colin Dunn, "Tour of Islay" & "Glenmorangie Masterclass" with Annabel Meikle.

But hurry, tickets for the remaining masterclasses are selling fast.

The expanded food offering this year

As with last years show there will be opportunities to sample some mouthwatering whisky & cheese pairings and some sumptuous whisky & meat combinations.

This year there will also be presentations of four whisky and chocolate tastings throughout each day. So, if the article on chocolate and whisky in this issue of Distilled has whetted your appetite, here is your chance to sample the combination.
