This is probably the most intensely nutty whisky I've tasted. Mainly almonds, or almond extract. Takes a bit of getting used to.

On the nose there are toasted almonds, and also a decent amount of bourbony oak. Maybe a tad sappy/floral. In the mouth it is full, rich, somewhat oily. Once again that big toasted almond flavour. Reminds me a bit of Auchentoshan Valinch, though much better.

The finish is long a rich. No way would you guess this is a four-year-old malt. At full strength it is hot but still drinkable in small sips. Needs some water to really find its balance. Speaking of balance, this whisky could use more of it. You really have to enjoy this nutty style of malt to love it. But either way, you can't deny it is a tasty and well-made malt with a good degree of complexity.

I have been really enjoying my single bourbon cask (3444)but I have to admit I'm not getting the same nuttiness you describe. It is, however, an awesome whisky.

I enjoy this very much (especially since the price reduction), it does well with a little water.

Agreed. A few drops help to open it up. Too bad the LCBO casks weren't bottled at CS, but all standardized to 60%. But I don't think too much flavour has been lost...

@Megawatt, One of my favourite malts for 2015. Spot on with your comment, "you can't deny it is a tasty and well-made malt with a good degree of complexity."
