This Balblair was also bottled by Gordon & Macphail, exclusively for the Whiskyshop Dufftown. Only 266 bottles were available.

A nice sweet nose with all kinds of dark fruits, both juicy and dried. Then loads of nuts: cashew and hazel at the front. Some baked banana and strawberry jam. Mint for freshness. Water gives it some more earthy notes with roots.

Full mouth feel, seasoned on nutmeg, black pepper and some paprika. Again the dark, dried fruits. Some litchi and apricots kick in. Cherry liqueur, too. Just a tad of tannins takes care of a great balance. Adding water makes it sweeter and softens the spices, making it dangerously quaffable.

The finish is long, spicy and honeysweet.

Wonderful dessert dram, well developed for that relatively young age. This was a feast. And it can take water, but not too much.
