There are quite a few peated BenRiach out there already. Think Curiositas or Fumosus. Or even the Solstice, for that matter. And then there are also the single casks. This is one of them, from 1979, bottled in 2011 after 31 long years.

Ooh, wonderful nose. Very fruity, almost tropical, but wrapped in a smoky blanket. The peat is far from dominant, but serves in a rather supporting role. Praliné, almonds and a basked full of yellow fruit and even some mocha. Exceptional.

Sturdy mouth feel. Creamy and very spicy. White pepper, nutmeg, ginger. And then the peat again. Less discreet than on th enose, but far from disturbing. Au contraire. And it remains so utterly fruity. A small fruit bomb, in fact.

Long, smoky and sweet finish. Stunning.

Bar a very few exceptions, all of these BenRiach single casks have been of the highest quality. You can easily buy these blind.
