Those familiar with the characteristic Islay traits of smoke, peat, and iodine can be forgiven for wondering if this expression of Bruichladdich Links really hails from that island. The nose is warm and soft, with a hint of honey and a trace of vanilla.

In the glass, the color is a deeper brown than one sees, say, with the golden hues of Ardbeg 10. In the mouth, Links is on par with the first impressions made by nosing. It comes on with a fullness missing any brash qualities. The warmth shifts from the front of the mouth to the back and throat over a moment, but the subtle intensity doesn't shift at all. Overall, a thoroughly satisfying experience without being terribly complex or confrontational.

A most enjoyable review, thank you @dszpiro.

Would like to have seen one more golf pun though ;)
