Tasting Notes by GT2

750mL Chieftain's Cask Bottling. Distilled December 1997 and bottled in December 2011. 14 Year Old Peated Bunnahabhain.

Pours a light straw, speckles of tears and big legs.

Nose at first is harsh toasted macadamia nut and husky amaretto. Thankfully opens up to beautiful savory sausage, rich herbal tea, fresh sea salt breeze, orange blossom honey, savory smoked steak, lavender, fresh ocean dunes and sea oats.

Taste has zero alcohol heat, not really too fatty or nutty. Just rich and silky with honey butter, chamomile, sea salt, dandelions, cherry habanero. Wow wow. Absolute perfection. I would drink an entire bottle of this $100 bad boy in one sitting if I was a multi millionaire.

Palate is super rich, silky, zero alcohol heat. Mild, calming warming like a beautiful cup of honey herbal tea.

Absolutely the best Scotch I have had so far in my Scotch journey. And I've just begun!
