This is a review for Berry's Bunnahabhain 24 year old cask 4110 distilled 1988 and bottled at 51.3%.

I have to thank the fine state of Florida for this whisky. At least that's where I procured this. I tend to purchase all of my whisky from the US so that I am not beholden to the outrageous prices at (and nonsensical practices of) the LCBO in Ontario. This bottle would likely have cost me $1000 at the LCBO....except that they wouldn't have enough sense to ship it in for retail...

Nose: classic bunnahabhain meets sherry delight. Hazelnuts with rich dark fruit, honey, sweet orange, and soft spices.

Palate: sweet honey-grape arrival laden with dark fruits and citrus and a slight hint of hazelnut oil. Then it shows its age with spices to the fore. A nice balance between up-front sherry and warming spice.

Finish: drying with lingering sweetness. The spices are dominating in a gentle tannic sort of way.

Absolutely fantastic dram. I've taken notes over the period of 9 months. Over time the nutty notes have subsided as the sherry notes have come to dominate.
