Cambus 21 Year Old

The Cambus distillery closed in 1993 and produced grain whisky that was mainly used for blends.

The nose is really welcoming. Pears, raisins, some light oak (slightly bitter), slightly nutty, thick sweet fudge and some banana. It is a lovely nose, you could sit and smell it for a long time. I hope it tastes as good as it smells.

Mouth feel is soft, silky and viscous. You get oak tones and sweetness leading to lightly spiced raisins and buttery fudge. It is very drinkable. Not as complex as the nose promises but so drinkable you don't mind.

The finish is lightly spiced and finally the grain profiles show their heads . A nice length which is sweet and lingering.
