Tasting Notes by markjedi1
The Whisky Agency, based in Germany, has already quite a few ranges, each with their own typical label. This one was released in the Landscapes range and bottled in 2010.
It has a wonderfully complex nose, bursting with juicy fruits. Apricots and pineapple take the lead, white fruit goes in pursuit. Lagging behind are notes of citrus. Pomerans, also known as the sour orange. Wonderful honey and mint. Buttercups. Almonds, coconut and a whiff of vanilla. Not a tracé of oak. This is outstanding!
On the palate, everything needs to move out of the way of the juicy fruit. Apricots and pineapple increase their lead, supported by the spices. A pinch of white pepper joins the fray. Coconut and vanilla cannot keep up. The oak slowly but surely draws a bittersweet finish line on the tastebuds.
The finish lasts forever, with the oak absolutely in the background, and remains juicy. The pomerans rears its head again and leaves it to fade ever so gently.
This is what I am talking about! It looks a lot like, but is still quite different, from the Glen Keith 1970 by Malts of Scotland. But definitely as good! Used to be around 180 EUR, but is hard to find now (and much more expensive).
