The Bladnoch Forum likes to bottle single casks. Let me put to head to head, cask 9804 and 9803. This one is 26 years old, bottled in 2010. So it is a sister cask of the previous one, that was allowed to matured a little longer. I am curious.

On the nose, it is even lighter and fresher that its one year younger sibling. White fruit, icing sugar and mint. Some oranges in the back. Toffee. Moccha! Pineapple, maybe? Marzipan too! Very fresh, light and fairly complex. This smells very good indeed!

It is creamy on the palate. Immediately very fruity and sweet, followed by pepper, mint, cloves and ginger. Vanilla and creamy butter, citrus zest and orange marmalade.

The finish is medium to long, sweet and very spicy. Slightly bitter towards the end.

This one is way better than cask 9804, again emphasizing the influence of the cask. The nose specifically was grand.
