A single cask expression from a first fill oloroso sherry butt out of Glendronach.

  • Nose: Muscovado sugar, real rum like character, marzipan, almond, some mint and chocolate. With water, more sherry and fruit notes come through also some new book aroma, still a beefy malt after adding water.

  • Pallet: some smoke chocolate and prunes again, little bit of toast, beautifully bittersweet. With water mocha and tobacco really come through

  • Finish: possibly the most complex finish I’ve ever experienced, spices, cocoa vanilla tobacco more cocoa or bitter chocolate, then almost a cured meat bacon type note, and menthol.

  • Mark: 9.4

Such fantastic balance between cask and spirity youth. Also great balance of flavours, from rum like to bacon this whisky has incredible variety and quality
