In all honesty, I had not yet heard of the Heritage, but saw the bottle in the cabinet while visiting the Belgian Filliers Distillery. I was able to convince the owner to sell the remainder of the bottle (about half) to me and my friend Niek. Today, I will subject it to my discerning taste buds.

The nose is very light and grainy and needs quite a bit of time and hand warmth to express itself. Barley and oats. Slightly oily and ever so slightly fruity with peaches in the distance. A hint of metal polish. So far, not the go getter.

On the palate, things change for the better. Creamy, spicy and sweet. Some vanilla, hazelnuts, a touch of oak. Very sweet, though. And again quite grainy. The oats return.

The finish is drying and fairly long. A hint of coffee on the deathbed.

Yeah, well, this is not a bad whisky, but it is a ‘small’ Glenfarclas. Around 25 EUR although I have no idea where you would be able to get your hands on one.
