Again a whisky with a wine finish that is no longer available: Glenmorangie Madeira Wood Finish. I have been told this is the regular 10 Year Old that received a Madeira cask finish for several months.

Hmm, the nose starts off very nicely. Sweet on grapefruit, sultanas, apples and a touch of bubblegum. Unfortunately, the whole collapses rather quickly, leaving only caramel.

On the palate, it is that caramel, with some ginger, that can be discerned. Midpalate, the sweet wine lurks around the corner without going over the top. Towards the end, I even get a hint of salt pushing the wine back.

The finish is medium in length and dies a sweet/salty death.

Well. I just do not know. It is better than the Burgundy Wood (that is no contest), but really good? I will not recommend it. If you can still find it, you can add it to your cabinet for about 40 EUR.
