This 12 Year Old Highland Park is something special, bottled in 1980 for the Italian market, imported by Ferrareto from Milan. The bottle is hideous, but the contents is wonderful with a fantastic bronze color, clearly from an active sherry cask. Forgive me the silly title of this review, by the way, it is a loose translation to Italian of the brand.

Wonderful and creamy nose on acacia honey, furniture polish, fudge and all sorts of sweet, dark and dried fruits. Quite a bit of eucalyptus and even a bit of thyme. Cough syrup. Typical heather and sweet peat are discernable, but it takes an effort. Pinch of salt.

On the palate, it is the salt that I notice first. Surprising. Then the whole immediately turns sweet. Very strong attack on pepper and cloves. Great body, wonderful mouthfeel. Again dark and dried fruits like figs and prunes.

The finish is very long on sherry.

Can this one still be found? I would not know. If so, do not hesitate!
