The Macphail's Collection from Gordon & Macphail is known to bottle young single malts at a very affordable price. You can actually add this 8 Year Old Highland Park to your cabinet for only 32 EUR.

The nose is soft and clean on citrus, a bit of diesel, beeswax and some heather. Fairly sweet with more toffee than I am used to from HP. A little mango passes by, but apart from that nothing much is going on.

The arrival is light, sweet (very much so) and mildly peppery. The fruit only expresses itself after a few seconds. Apart from the mango, I mostly get peach. Vanilla takes over from the toffee. The smokiness is nice, without becoming dominant. Again quite clean.

The finish is rather short on more of the same.

Fairly simple HP, but certainly value for money.
