Independent Bottler Duncan Taylor has bottled quite a bit of Invergordon already. Most casks were put to sleep in 1965 and were released in their Rare Auld series. This is one of those, cask 15519.

A nose rife with wood shavings, hazelnuts, vanilla, a touch of nougat and some red fruit. Raspberries? The vanilla becomes a tad loud, making this dram lack depth. The oak rears its head as well, with a touch of cinnamon and a big helping of nutmeg. Fresh mint. After a few moments I get something that reminds me of butter milk.

It is creamy on the palate. Spicy, too. Cinnamon, cloves and nutmeg. The fruit gets more room to develop. The raspberries turn into strawberries. Yes, very sweet strawberries.

The finish is quite long and spicy, but offers nothing new.

While a nice grain, it is rather one-dimensional. The nose, palate and finish are all the same. I would not call this boring, but it is not exactly exciting either.
