Nose: Superb. Utterly superb. Sweet and fruity. There are crisp apples and citrus fruits bursting through. Perhaps a little aniseed as well.

Taste: The first thing to note is the smoothness. Oh this is so smooth. The citrus fruits continue to be a strong influence along with notes of vanilla.

Finish: Super smooth. The citrus fruits fade away to be replaced by the sweetness of caramel. The oak is there as well, coming through nicely without overpowering.

Balance: Very pleasant but perhaps not quite as rounded as it could be. This is smooth and crisp right through until the caramel bashes the taste buds, which is the only slight disappointment.

This reminds me in a way of the Aberlour 10 year old. It's crisp and refreshing with nothing coming through as being too heavy. This is a really delightful sipping whisky and one that is likely to become a firm favourite in my cupboard.

Sounds fantastic! So was this a Whyte and Mackay label like the picture indicates?

No it's not a Whyte & Mackay. How strange. I don't know why it added that picture. Nothing to do with me. It's a Knockdhu.
