Littlemill is always a bit of a feast for me. This is a sample I got from Foamy and contains a 23 Year Old Littlemill from the German bottler’s The Whisky Agency Stamp series. Littlemill 1990 normally never disappoints, so the expectations are high.

Passion fruit and vanilla, that is the nose of this Littlemill in a nutshell. But there is more. It also shows grapefruit, beeswax, wet grass, potpourri, almonds and a soft smokiness from the toasted oak. Delicious.

It is very sweet and spicy on the palate. Liquorice and ginger, mostly, with a hint of mint and a nice fruitiness that holds the middle between tropcal and waxy. Quite zesty as well. Can easily be enjoyed without water, despite the cask strength.

I get some more citrus and spices in the long and warm finish. Only at the death does it become a tad dry.

The high expectations were not only met, they were exceeded. A jewel. Around 150 EUR.
