Littlemill, the long gone Lowland distillery, almost never disappoints. North Sea Bottlers is a collaboration between the Belgian wine house Douchy and whisky shop Anverness and their firstborn is this 24 Year Old Littlemill from 1990, from the warehouses of Hart Brothers. The sherry butt yielded 312 bottles.

The nose is honeysweet on raspberries, litchi, caramel and sweet oranges. A twig of mint adds freshness. Hint of white grapefruit. Sweet malt. I feel the sherry influence was rather limited for a first fill cask, but it sure is good!

It is wonderfully oily and feisty on spices: nutmeg and even cloves. The fruit again comes from the citrus family, with grapefruit in the lead, giving it a bitter touch. The litchi returns and becomes big. Then suddenly cranberry syrup kicks in.

The finish is fairly long and honeysweet.

Wonderefully sweet Littlemill that is a dessert in and of itself. Anverness still has a few bottles available at 147 EUR. Go for it!
