This Littlemill was distilled in 1990 and bottled by Signatory, the company of Andrew Symington, who also owns Edradour. The casks 2983 and 2985 yielded 623 bottles.

The nose starts of very softly… grassy, floral and a little dusty. Wet cardboard. A bit waxy as well. Think candle wax. It needs a bit of time for some fruitiness to come out, but eventually I get some apricots and pineapple. But I can’t really call this Littlemill ‘fruity’.

The palate is a lot more interesting. A bit watery, perhaps, but also fresh and crispy. Now it does become fruity: apricots and pineapple return, but I also get some citrus and vanilla. A bit of pepper. This is more what I would expect from a decent Littlemill.

The finish is rather short and makes the dustiness return.

It’s not the kind of Littlemill that will make you fall in love with this brand. A decent malt, but nothing more.
