Tasting Notes by galg
So, A Longmorn with a very enticing name : “A balm for the soul”. here’s to it delivering that promise… 2nd fill Sherry butt, and I am really looking forward to this one, since my experience with Longmorns is not vast to say the least. I need to try more. And here’s this one, and I have very good memories from the last one I reviewed here.
Nose: A gently beauty. Gentle wood. Nuts. Cinnamon. Dried figs , apricot. Hay. Rum. Spice and wee anise, to finish it all with. This is one fragrant nose, and as complex as they get. wow. Really great sniffing experience, you can enjoy that one quite some time.
Palate: Creamy , malty and sweet. With a dash of ginger powder, nutmeg, cinnamon. Vanilla. Cocoa powder. and the dried fruit from before in the nose , I think it’s apricot, and the odd fig .
Finish: Bitter sweet nuts, topped with spice and wood.
An excellent dram. a solid 90. and yes, I am quite sure it’s very good for your sould too, as well as for your taste buds.
