The last little cask miniature in my gift pack contains a 15 year old malt, but I am unable to find out which one it might be. Remember this was bottled in 1991, so it contains a malt from the 1970’s.

Nice nose, fairly sweet and almost creamy. I get milk chocolate and butter cake with a hint of almond paste.

Oily and mouth coating, but immediately honeysweet on the palate. A little too sweet and almost cloying. Not very enjoyable. A little bit of smoke evolves, but it also has a less pleasant metallic edge and a floral hint that flirts with soap.

The finish is medium long, which is not an advantage, as the floral side becomes full-fledged soapy.

Well, I cannot help it, but I am done with Old St Andrews. Three misses in my book.
