Tasting Notes by phoenix

Single Malt with no age statement

A limited edition bottling by Chief Distiller David Fitt of carefully selected casks. £45, not available in shops, only available if you visit the distillery. There are only 960 bottles in the batch.

Colour: Fino Sherry

Nose: Faintly peaty, pear drops, slight vanilla and a backnote of light fruit.

Mouthfill: Filling but light, slightly drying

Palate: This is a big whisky and feels more like cask strength that its 46% ABV! Lightly peated with the pear drops fading to a slight sherry taste with rum present also. An eclectic mix of tastes makes this a highly complex whisky.

Finish: Long, leaving a lightly peated and very satisfying taste that lingers for simply ages.

Overall Comments: A very classy whisky, feels like a 18 year old. If you can get to Norfolk - do so, they are a small and very friendly team at St.George's and it's worth a visit just to get this special bottling. Take your time and relax with a few glasses to get to know it.
