This 20 yo Rosebank is bottled by the glorious italian label "Silver Seal", Sestante collection.

N: neat, the strong anise notes, together with juniper and artemisia herbs immediately stand out. Then this Rosebank slightly opens on a sweetness hard to define; you feel a fresh maltiness, that is still quite closed and pungent even if richly fragrant. With water, one can discern note of almonds (almond paste), dried fig, tea leaves. Big complexity.

P: neat is tough as the nose. Delicious in its sweetness. By adding water this whisky opens wide, and that means pure pleasure: really juicy, fruity and floreal with a lot of stuffs involved: honey, dried fig, sweet plum, some sophisticated citrus note; the herbal dimension (fresh hay) is in the backgroung in continuous evolution.

F: persistent, long, very gentle and mellow yet. Woodiness is absent and it's all about herb, hay, almond and apples. Very good, fresh and elegant.

By drinking this Rosebank you will go all over a curve: delicate and close on the nose, opened to a thousand aromas on the palate, while in the finish it closes again itself. The result is the best a Lowland malt can offer.
