This young Teaninich was bottled by Signatory in their well-known Un-Chillfiltered Collection, but at cask strength. The cask was selected by a Belgian collective: The Whiskybarn, Billy's Whisky Barrel, The Glengarry, Whisky & Such, Tasttoe and Crombé 5.0. The nose is rather closed and needs some time. A lot of time, to be honest. After a lot of patience I get some apples and pears and gummi sweets, but not much more. A dash of woodsmoke, maybe. Flawless, but rather simple. On the palate I get more of the same: white fruit and sweets. The second sip reveals something more: apricots, vanilla, malt sugars and some white pepper. Gradually becomes a little spicier and makes your mouth nice and warm. Halfway through, a bitterness appears as of chicory and quinine. In the long finish it is mainly apricot that reverberates. It was a diesel... he needed a lot of time to get going. It can still be found in Belgian shops for around 65 EUR. Fair deal!
