I found this particular expression at a Premier Wine & Liquor location in Buffalo. The bottle and label are pre-makeover, and when I go on the website, I don't see this expression mentioned at all, so perhaps they've stopped making it? Too bad!

The colour is very similar to the standard expression (light cloudy gold), but just a hair darker. On the nose, much more pot still with tons of spice, pencil shavings and oak. Very floral and malty, with vanilla and herbs. Lemons, apples and pears. Lovely. More herbal and grassier with water.

On the palate - also lovely, with many of the same delicious notes - perhaps a bit more vanilla and citrus. Creamy mouthfeel. Pot still notes become more apparent with a drop of water.

On the finish, long and deep but a little rough, with more wood spices - the weakest element of this otherwise very good Irish blend. Very

This bloody website was messing up the score and when I hit enter, it published this unfinished review. Of course, it doesn't let you edit your review (only the score), so I have to finish it here:

Very close to the 12 Year Old in style and substance, though perhaps without quite as much depth, but a little more vibrancy. Much more complex than the duller standard expression. If you can find the 10 or 12 year olds (which are not yet available in Ontario), grab them.
