I was able to sample the Longmorn at a Whisky Society tasting at the London Eye in August. (Thanks Joe for bringing this one to the event!). It was an amazing dram, just as Laura described it.
I tried to buy a bottle both in London as well as later on my trip in Scotland. Unfortunately, they were all sold out. After returning to the states, I was pleasantly surprised to see the US chapter offer it for sale. Haven't opened it yet; saving it for a special occasion. Can't wait. :-)
Tried the 40yo Longmorn at the London members' room - absolutely fantastic and the description on the video is spot-on (as you'd expect from an SMWS ambassador). In fact, I liked it so much I bought a bottle (in my cabinet now). Haven't opened it yet mind you; needs an occasion.
Please have a video segment like this every month, (at least...)! I liked that there was more content then the regular 2mins videos you find anywhere on the web... Thanks!
Connosr members may also be interested in a pre-release tasting video I did when I was invited down to Maker's Mark to taste the new Maker's 46 about a month and a half ago. See
That was fantastic. I found it wonderfully educational. Second only to tasting whisky (and food) myself, one of the joys in my life is to watch others, like Laura Hay here, imbibe it so enthusiastically!
Now more than ever, I'd like to see a chapter of SMWS to find its way to Canadian shores.

Has the special offer expired? I get a 404 error when I click through.

Really interesting video. Would like to see more of these. Made me want to join the society, and had it been cheaper I would have!

Lovely piece of film indeed. Very profesionally made. Great music too! And I just love that Scottish accent :)

I have tried the 40 y/o Longmorn (there was a couple of drams floating around after a tasting I did at the SMWS a few months back) - it was lovely :)
Maybe not £25 a shot lovely, though.
