This past weekend, Ghent (Belgium) was the decor for the Whisky Festival Belgium and this is my personal top ten of what I tasted:
1. Glen Garioch 1971 for Samaroli
2. Brora 1972/2002 Douglas Laing Old & Rare Platinum Series
3. St Magdalene 1966/1993 Connoisseurs Choice Gordon & Macphail
4. Brora 1982/2010 Connoisseurs Choice Gordon & Macphail
5. Port Ellen 1982/2010 Connoisseurs Choice Gordon & Macphail
6. Glen Avon 35 Year Old (Glenfarclas)
7. Glen Mhor 1974 Gordon & Macphail
8. Auchentoshan 1977 Sherry Cask Matured
9. Glenfiddich 30 Year Old
10. Belgian Owl Cask Strength (74,1%)
I was also happy to find an old Auchentoshan NAS from the early 90's Italian import. Not even the people at Auchentoshan could give me more details, so the hunt for info continues.
