What is the next bottle you purchase or open?

@drinix Cool... I can't wait to drink another dram. I usually like to drink my bottles this way: 4-5 first drams are drank not long after I purchased the bottle. Then I let the bottle rest still for a couple of weeks or a month. The air that filled the gap left by my drams often opens up the whisky. The following drams until there is 10-15% left in the bottle are the best of the bottles. I usually do my official review on these drams. The first two drams of Clynelish impressed me. I will probably take another one tonight while watching the last game of Hockey of the season.

@bobsterman91 Yeah. It is a nice place. I was on a business trip near by and add the weekend for myself so since it was freakin hot, I went to the beach and there was a very nice liquor store across the street with a nice selection of single malts. Roller something !

Heading across the Border to Grand Forks North Dakota this weekend for a mini vacation. Will have to see what I can find on my wish list that's a bargain to buy. On a sad note since I'm working 16 hrs on Sat I won't be able to open my Fathers day gift of Aberlour a'bunadh batch 30 till I get back from our Vacation but then I'll have a couple of extra bottle's to open with it.

Ardmore 1991 Cask Strength (G&M)

Just came back form a little Vacation in Grand forks, the whisky selection wasn't too bad. Unfortunately didn't find anything I was looking for but ended up with 3 nice bottles anyway. 2 of which are unavailable in Manitoba. The Dalmore 12 year old, Balvenie 14 year old Caribbean cask. The 3rd bottle I bought is due to a friend who is a Bourbon drinker and was with me on this trip. Knob Creek 9yr single barrel reserve. Now that I'm at home I can sit back and enjoy some of what I purchased.

Just picked up a 1980s Lagavulin 12.

@whiskyshiba My girlfriend showed me those a couple days ago. I wish I could get my hands on some.

Purchased today: Glenfiddich 15 Distillery Edition 51%, Glenrothes Select Reserve, and Old Potrero Single Malt Whiskey (the 19th Century Style). I will open the malts shortly. The single malt rye whiskey should arrive within a few days.

Some Auchentoshan or a Bruichladdich Peat. I plan my vacation in the US in august, I hope I can get something special. Here, in Quebec, we have the regular bottles and some special bottlings but I have to look outside the province for something else.

I dream to be able to taste the Old Potrero someday @Victor . Do you know if it is at WhiskyFest? My brother and I plan to go in April 2012.

@JoeVelo, the only information that I have is off of the WhiskyFest website. If you are going April, 2012, then I am guessing you are talking about the Chicago location. I saw both the Old Potrero 18th Century Style Whiskey and the Old Potrero Single Malt Rye (aka '19th Century Style') listed on the April 2011 Chicago WhiskyFest pour list. In addition Anchor Brewing is listed on the upcoming New York WhiskyFest participant's list. So unless something changes radically with respect to Anchor Brewing's pattern of participation in these events I would consider it highly probably that the Old Potrero Whiskeys will be available for sampling at the April 2012 Chicago WhiskyFest.

Saw a bottle of snow phoenix sitting in the corner of a local shop, and decided to give it a go. It will have to wait at least a few weeks, but I'm anxious to compare it to the 15 and 18.

Came home to find that my Highland Park 18 had arrived courtesy of the good folks at master of malt (well I had to pay for the privilege of course!). She will be uncorked this weekend as part of my birthday celebrations. Haven't looked forward to a birthday as much as this for a while :)

A Caol Ila 18Y and a modest Pig´s Nose... But the latter is pure nostalgia: I had my first whisky 18 years (half a life ago lol) back in time, and it was a Pig's Nose... Can still vividly remember the old label; yellowish background with a normal piggy on it...

I'll open the Longmorn 15 but should I, since it has been replaced by the 16?

Just purchased yesterday: Ardbeg Supernova, Wathen's Single Barrel Bourbon (an unexpected pleasure), Yamazaki 12 yo, Heaven Hill Trybox Corn Whiskey, Tullamore Dew 10 yo Single Malt (sic!), Hancock President's Reserve Single Barrel Bourbon, and Catoctin Creek's Pearousia Pear Brandy (outstanding!).

In the last month I went slightly whisky mad and bought 6 bottles of whisky - Old Pulteney 12 YO, Arran Machrie Moor, Bruichladdich Waves, Bruichladdich 3D3 (my first bottle of this one is almost empty and its to good to not have in my cabinet), Kilchoman Denmark #4 Single Cask Release Bourbon Cask #03/06 - 5 year old (Kilchomans first 5 YO whisky - distilled March 29. 2006 and bottled March 29. 2011) and Kilchoman Inaugural 100% Islay 2011 - 3 Year old - Limited Edition Release.

Just opended my Bruichladdich Octomore "The Beast" Futures bottling.

Not one for adding water to my Scotch, but I think this animal needs a drop!

I purchased Bruichladdich 'Rocks' today for under $60.

Picked up a bottle of Jack Daniel's Single Barrel after visiting the distillery yesterday. Also picked up a bottle of Balvenie 14 Year Caribbean Cask.

Just bought an Ardbeg 15 YO from the independent bottler Dun Bheagan Vintage Bottling. I saw this bottle the other day at a local shop that sells a lot of interesting stuff: good coffee, the, wine, chocolate, spirits etc.

And since the owner (a woman) also likes a good bottle of whisky (and especially the smokey and peaty kind) she somehow manages to find some interesting bottles that I don't see anywhere else.

After seeing the bottle the other day I went home and looked it up on the net and read about it, and that convinced me that this was a bottle that I should try, especially because Ardbeg was my first love in the Islay whiskies.

A good friend of mine brought over a bottle of Bowmore 25. It wasn't my bottle but I got to open and sample it! ;)

Dailuaine Signatory 1997. Opened it yesterday. One of the best I've had in a long time. I highly recommend it!
