My first introduction to the world of whisky(ey) was when I was 19 on a dive boat off the coast of British Columbia. The ship captain offered a quick lesson in Scotch. We sampled about 7 bottles, going up the line in age and from blended to single malts. It was a great way to start my appreciation for whisky. Now I work at a distillery in the SF Bay Area and have been able to sample many great spirits.
