A Whisky tasting in 1981 swiftly moved me from Glenfiddich to Springbank, Talisker, Lagavulin and Laphroig. Danny at Lindsay House offered Red Breast with Cheese, another delight. I am now of the opinion that the utlimate social and intellectual filter is a love of fine whisky.
