Announcement about the future of Connosr

Thank you for keeping us all up to date. I guess I need to sign up for discord now...

I'm a PC gamer so use discord quite a bit. It's a good platform. Hopefully we'll still have a good way to post/review reviews and have a scoring system.

Thanks for the update and all you have done for Connosr.

Thanks for the update and agree with @casualtorture thanks for all you have done. Have signed up for discord. Cheers for setting the server up.

I tried to join but nothing happened

I couldnt accept the invitation to join?? wondering why.

Connosr has been an important part of my whisky exploration journey for about 12 years.

Reading reviews and the commentary has been helpful in teaching me a lot about whisky. I have learned a lot by preparing and posting my own reviews as well.

I can’t think of any website I have visited more than this one over the last decade.

Most of all, I have made a number of friends on Connosr, and our friendships have moved beyond whisky.

So first I would like to say thank you @jeanluc, for keeping this site up for as long as you have.

I have to admit, I will miss the site when it is no longer interactive. I have so many reviews I still want to do - years worth. I don’t know if I will be able to continue that. There are people from so many continents I will hate to lose touch with. Of all the whisky sites I have visited, this one was consistently the best.

I will definitely try out Discord. But it won’t be the same.

But things change in life and we have to move with them. I choose to move forward with gratitude.

@Astroke @Jonesz @Nozinan yeah I tried with the link too but couldn’t either. Joined discord separately, then found the server using the server name supplied as discord.gg/REpS6rwy

I also couldn’t post until I had messed about with the settings but it tells you what you need to do. Fairly straightforward given I am a serious techno f*#kwit

I was a long time reader before I began posting, so this site has been a part of my whisky landscape as long as I can remember. Always felt more like a wee family rather than random strangers babbling about whisky to each other, which was made it unique.

As @Nozinan says, things change and all things pass. Thanks for setting up the Discord.

On that, I have logged in but can't see any Connosr group. I'm @RianC, if anyone wants to send a friend request. Anyone? Please! Lol . @Timp, I think we're about level par on the tech front!

@jeanluc - will our personal collections still be visible on the archive or will that function disappear?

@RianC hello mate. Did you type in discord.gg/REpS6rwy ? Hit the + symbol on the left hand side when you have logged in and it should bring up a page saying create your own server. At the bottom is a blue tab saying find server. Click that and then type in the above server address. Then join server option. Should take you straight to it.

We can keep collections in the archive but they won't be updatable.

Can you try creating an account with Discord first? Then once you're signed in, click on the invite link discord.gg/REpS6rwy

@jeanluc I am signed in and it still will not let me accept invite. I cannot even search for the group as it says not found.

If you're having problems joining via the invite link, please verify your email address on Discord (they should have emailed you a verification link when you joined).

I became a Connosr member thirteen years ago after developing an admiration for the intelligent and polite banter and informative discussions on this forum.

I have been absent in recent months, but will always remember Connosr as a safe place to discuss spirit minded topics, and often times, so much more.

Like @paddockjudge I haven't been contributing much to connosr the last few months. I've had other interests and priorities besides whisky lately. However, I still love my whisky and I will get onto the discord site. I'm counting on @Nozinan to lead the way here and keep the connosr community together. Cheers all.

@jeanluc - I thought I'd joined OK but then received emails yesterday telling me my account was banned for sending spam! Lol

Having never sent anything, honest, Guv! I assume my account was hacked. Not being too tecchy, does this mean I won't be able to rejoin?

@RianC you either need to sign up with a different email, as I did, or appeal the decision which I also did but a day later when they unlocked my account I already had another one.

@jeanluc - I had the same issue that several others have had. Even though I'm logged on to Discord, when I click the link you provided, I still receive the invalid invite error message. I sent an email to support@connosr.com as others were directed to do. Thanks!

Apologies to anyone who's having an issue where Discord is flagging your new account as "spam" this is quite frustrating and a bit over-sensitive if I might say.

@bwmccoy + @RianC - I've emailed you directly, we'll find a way to sort this!

@Nozinan + @Astroke - any advice on how you overcame this issue?

@jeanluc I set up with a new email address or else I was not getting in.

@jeanluc - Thank you! I received your friend invite and accepted it, but I still can’t join the Connosr Community. It still responds with invite link expired.

@jeanluc I appealed the suspension but set up an account with another email. By the time the suspension was lifted, and it was, I was set up with the new account.
