@Victor I can't believe you are sitting on a bottle of this! It is worse then your last bottle in my opinion (just look at my reviews). You really are having some bad luck with the Corry batches - which is so very sad for me. When Corry is good it is my favorite of the standard Ardbeg line. I just haven't found a good batch lately.

Any comments on L11 243? This was what arrived when I ordered it online (more than $100 less than it would have cost in Ontario).

I've been pretty happy with the L12 047 Cory that I got several months ago. It took me a while to get to it and while I have not written a full review I would say its a good batch. But I don't really have anything to compare it to other than my last bottle of Uigeadail. I would say its heavy on the salt and peat with lots of citrus in the background (noticeable but not over powering). The peat and brine are really up front. However, it's lacking in the smoke department as compared to the Uigeadail, mostly in the nose. It's also not as ashy on the palate. When I first opened it I was not blown away, but it has gotten better with every dram. I would give it an overall rating of 92 after 4 sittings and multiple drams with and without water. I scored my last batch of Uigeadail at 94. Granted the Uigeadail tops my list for Islay malts thus far so my scores may be higher than others with my limited experience with this style of whisky. I think it's best with a small drop of water more so than the Uigeadail, maybe it's the higher ABV. I like it!

@Nozinan Sorry I haven't had that batch. I will look forward to hearing your take (whenever you get around to opening it).

@Bigtuna very glad to hear that the L12 047 is good. Sadly, none of that is to be found in the Virginia stores.

@Victor and @Nock - After doing some "research" last night, I am happy to report that after 3 weeks being open, the soap on the nose is gone and the "peppermint" sweetness that I was experiencing is now more peach. I still prefer this one with a few drops of water; seems to open it up a bit more than neat.

@Nock, I agree with your rating of mid 80's, but for what I paid for it, it should be more than that to justify the cost. (Gotta love WA state's 20.5% Spirit Sales Tax plus another $3.77 per liter tax)

I opened my bottle of Uigeadail L13 245 last week and am very pleased with this batch. Thanks again @Nock for recommending it to me.

@goldfilm Thanks for the post of the batch number. I haven't seen one from 2015 yet. My local store still has bottles of the L13 240. Which is sad as it is the worst batch of Corry I have tried. I won't buy another bottle . . . but no one else seems to be buying them either. So, no turn over. Hence no new batches from 2015. Frustrating!
