@whiskyshiba If you limit me to these two, a'Bunadh. But Glenfarclas 105 betters both of them.

@two-bit-cowboy, I've never tried the Glenfarclas105. I have their 1974 at ABV57.4 and is one of my faves. Is it similar to it?

Macallan Cask Strength was the second whisky I ever tasted and I immediately fell in love with it! (I didn't like the first one at all!) When I tasted A'Bunadh, my first thought was how much it reminded me of Macallan C S. When I tasted Glenfarclas 105, I didn't have that same reaction. My personal ranking of the 3 would be Macallan C S, followed by A'Bunadh and then the 105. The good news is you can't go wrong with any of them. Enjoy!

@bwmccoy, You always remember your 1st (or 2nd for you). lol
Just picked up the A'Bunadh. Batch32 at 60.4%ABV. Will give it a whirl.
Macallan CS for Friday. And back to Islay for weekend BBQ.

@whiskyshiba, a fun discussion and tasty sampling ! My bottles are A'Bunadh 28 (59.7%) and Mac C.S. (59.3%). When sampled separately, either bottle is just superb, but when compared together, I would sightly prefer the A'Bunadh ... I think it offers a greater degree of depth and complexity.
@two-bit cowboy, now I need to acquire the Glenfarclas 105 ... love the 12-year.
Extra-credit assignment: cut the A'Bunadh and Mac concentrates to 46%, and then compare to the Glendronach 15 Revival (100% sherry cask, 46%) ... you might be in for a surprise !

@AboutChoice , Thanks! I just had a few drams of my new A'Bunadh (in the new packaging design). It was very good, but I like the Glenfarclas 1974 much better. If you can, you should try and get a sample. You won't be disappointed. As for the Macallan CS, I will hold off on purchasing it. Instead, I will look for a sample. I have a suspicion that it might be too one dimensional that is common with most younger Macallans.
I've never tried the Glendronach. I will definitely be on the lookout.
Thanks for your input.

@AboutChoice You don't need water with the 105.
I'd never considered comparing the 105 to 'Dronach 15. Both are terrific, and I'm not sure one's better. A future study for sure.

Which speyside sherry bomb do you prefer? Most reviews have them neck and neck.
