Adding new bottlings?

0 4

Youngupstart started a discussion

Is there a way we can as a community suggest new bottlings to be added to the list? I think it would be nice to be able to add a few more to my cabinet, and when the time comes review them so others wondering about it will be able to have a look.

I notice you call Port Ellen, Glengoyne, Laphroaig, Port Charlotte, Arran your favourite whiskies, but (except for Laphroaig) none of them is in your cabinet? Port Ellen 10th release is great, Glengoyne had a lovely English Merchants Choice and independent 1970's releases, Arran 14yo... etc.

As a general suggestions, try independent bottlers. The Whisky Agency, A.D. Rattray, Douglas Laing, Gordon & MacPhail, Signatory, Duncan Taylor... all have excellent whiskies at interesting prices. And they allow you to discover new aspects of the distilleries outside of the common profile.

@Youngupstart If I understand the question correctly, you can suggest new bottles to be added to our database here: www.connosr.com/whisky/suggest/

Or if you write a review of a whisky which is not listed we will add that bottle and link it to the review.

I hope that helps.

@WhiskyNotes I actually work at a store specializing in whisk(e)y, where I am permitted to try almost the entire selection. Them not currently being in my "virtual cabinet" provides little interest to me, as I have reviews on a fair few bottlings that I can not share with the community. To answer your question, I am talking about specifics other than independent bottlings, mostly not having much to do with my current choice picks. Single casks that are specifically supplied to my store obviously do not show on the current list of whiskies. All I am suggesting is that we have a neat documentation of things not currently available for reviews, which connosr has so aptly provided. @Connosr Thank you for the info, that is very helpful for someone who would like to add to the currently listed whiskies.
