What States are you referring to? I'm in the US and there are quite a few options here, and at prices far more reasonable than our neighbors to the north must endure.

I live in the Southeast US, and my cup overfloweth with just the local options. Add to that, the number of stores that ship (depending on your state), and your only obstacles should be how much you want to pay, and what is currently imported into the US. And even that is not an issue, as online stores like Whisky Exchange can ship those bottles to the US.
You'll be broke and full of fine whisky in no time :)

Where do you live? I'm in a control state (PA) and feel a bit like you. Depending on your state you might be able to order from a US retailer like Binny's (not in PA). Otherwise you can get reasonable shipping rates from Europe at Master of Malt, The Whisky Barrel, or shop.whiskybase.com. Or if you're not in a control state, just shop around!

@valuewhisky If you are close to an adjoining state like Maryland or Delaware, you might be able to drive there and find the whiskey you are after.

@DaveM Indeed - I love checking out liquor stores when I go out of state!

@valuewhisky Shawan Liquors in Hunt Valley MD near Baltimore has a good selection of whiskey and bourbon if you happen to be in the area.

Being from the States I don't see 90% of the SCOTCH labels listed. Glennfidich is nothing to sneeze at but dang!...I don't see any of the other scotches in my local or speciality stores. As a macphail clan I would like to purchase scotch from my ancesters..HAHAHA. Any suggestions?
