For my 85th meeting with Arran I chose this Small Batch Rum Finish from 2018 of which 1500 bottles were filled especially for importer The Nectar from Belgium. It has a nice golden color and is bottled at the friendly drinking strength of 46%.

Nice summery nose on baked apples with cinnamon and almonds. Relatively light and simple, but very accessible and ideal on this hot summer day.

Full-bodied, almost creamy and a bit spicy. Licorice and pepper, immediately followed by sweet notes of guimauve, marshmallow and sultanas. Applesauce. The almonds return again, this time sprinkled with some cane sugar. That's honestly the only influence of the rum that I can detect. That being said, this is very tasty, so it does not bother at all.

In the medium finish I get apples and cinnamon again, as well as a pinch of black pepper.

Nice, summery Arran. Still to be found and around 65 EUR. Thanks, Benny!
