A few years ago Douglas Laing bottled this Arran single malt in their famous Old Particular series. At cask strength, this time, i.e. 52%. My brother in drams Manny from Holland sent me the sample. Thanks, bro!

Rather light nose on lemon sherbet, vanilla and toffee. Grasses and green garden herbs, but at the same time with a sharp edge.

Nicely oily and sweet n the palate. Mostly the citrus fruit returns, joined by some vanilla and even a hint of salted caramel. Good strength. The alcohol gives it some bite, but not over the top. This is good.

The finish is medium long, surprisingly spicy and warm, but also bright and fresh. Lots of oak at the death to be honest.

Nice, somewhat classic Arran with a salty twist in the taste. Thx, Manny!
