This is a very young Ben Nevis, bottled by Duncan Taylor in their famous Dimensions series. It’ s a single sherry cask from which they have drawn only 85 bottles, exclusive for the Dutch shop Bams.

Fruity and dirty, that’s a nice summary of this nose. For those who prefer a little more detail: banana, pineapple, blood oranges, grapefruit and rotting leaves on a cow pat. Nae worries, it works. This is a good nose.

Fruity and dirty, that’s a nice summary of this palate. For those who prefer a little more detail: nice continuation of the nose, but with a very spicy layer on top. Even a salty edge, which makes me wonder if this was a manzanilla or even fino cask instead of the more common oloroso. It’s very good.

Fruity and dirty, that’s a nice… sorry, I got carried away. Very long finish that keeps a fine balance between salty and sweet. Yes, the saltiness comes more to the fore now. Mildly drying at the death, but by now I cannot stop smiling.

Fruity, dirty, salty, sweet and very satisfying Ben Nevis. Top dram.
