Klubb23 had her eye on this young Ben Nevis that was finished for 7 months in a sherry octave, a small cask where the interaction between the spirit and the wood intensifies. Funny detail: the label mentions Klubb33, an innocent typo that did not immediately perturb the club members. The bottles came on the market this way.

Nice and sweet nose on butterscotch, nougat, hazelnuts, Café Noir cookies and floral honey.

Nice and oily. Gently seasoned (nutmeg and a pinch of black pepper). Excellent strength, so water is unnecessary. Even darker and sweeter than the nose already promised, with now also some overripe banana, gingerbread and the skin of a grapefruit.

The finish lingers for a relatively long time and now offers rather dried apricot on some cloves.

Nice, because the sherry gives depth without dominating the spirit. Ben Nevis' DNA has remained perfectly intact here. Glad I got a bottle of this. Thanks to Dominic for the sample.
