This BenRiach was selected by David Stirk, the man behind the Creative Whisky Company. It is a single cask that was cut to the drinking strength of 45%. I got the bottle as a gift from my Dutch buddy Stjepko and some friends last October. Time to open her up, eh?

Very fruity nose with sultanas, soft vanilla and applesauce. Develops nicely in the glass. Pineapple on the grill, dried apricots, hints of fresh figs. Cloves and cinnamon. Maple syrup. Very juice.

Creamy on the palate, but honeysweet. All the fruit returns, but there is a hint of bubblegum that, for my part, goes a little over the top. Good spices. Touch of oak and a mild bitterness from grapefruit skins towards the end.

Good and long finish, in which peppered pineapple lingers the longest.

Apart from that touch of bubblegum on the palate, this is a grand BenRiach. Thanks, Stjepko & Co!
