This BenRiach was bottled by the new Belgian players Double-V for an equally new Belgian player Klubb23. Funny. It matured for 7 years on a bourbon cask from Koval, that small craft distillery in Chicago, USA. It was distilled on 9th December 2013 and bottled on 10th February of this year. Let’s get to work!

The nose is fairly light and at first reminds me of yoghurt with some pineapple and peach. Very summery. After a few moments I get some mango chutnet and a very floral note. I quite like this.

Good arrival. Nicely oily and pretty spicy. The BenRiach DNA is unmistakable: very fruity and fresh with lots of pepper and finely balanced. The woodspices give it warmth while the fruit translates into pineapple, banana, peach and apricots.

The finish is nicely long and fruity.

A nice BenRiach as the icing on the cake of this Belgian collaboration.
