Nose : Oodles and oodles of peat, big peat, very nice stuff from our Speyside friends at BenRiach. Peat is first act here, then comes the Rum artefact, with some sweetness, heather and Demerara sugar. Would i guess this one to be made outside Islay (Blindfolded) - the answer is NO. love the nose here. love it.

Palate : Peat, spices and some eucalyptus on top of it. not Uber Complex, but nice in it's little way.

Finish : Smokey, bitter coffee, and the spices remain , then mostly vanilla and the eucalyptus shine until the end…. Long end…

Bottom line:

A very nice dram, i think i like it almost as much as i liked the Heredetus (Peated and Sherry finished) a few months ago. Kudus to BenRiach for producing all those lovely heavily peated whiskies, and doing it just right! Islay, look out , BenRiach is behind.

Very good stuff, and highly recommended for any Peat-head.
