Best budget blended whisky?

I, like the rest of you I'm sure, live for great single malts! However, I am also a great appreciator of good budget blended whisky. My question to all of you out there, what do you consider to be some of the best blended whisky for your dollar? I'm looking for generally available, reasonably priced blends. Two of my favorites are Suntory Old Whisky and, one I had for the first time just recently, Grant's Family Reserve.

@CanadianNinja - of the blends that I've tried, JW Black is quite good, but a little on the expensive side here (it is more expensive than some other 12 year-old malts); The Famous Grouse isn't bad, and I must admit I'm partial to it due to its connection with Hugh Laurie's novel 'The Gun Seller'. Anything done by Compass Box has been phenomenal, but they aren't exactly budget blends.

Generally, if I'm going for a more inexpensive, budget whisky, I tend to drink Canadian whisky - Centennial 10yr, Gibson's 12yr, etc., which may or may not be available where you are.

Grant's is good (it's the only budget blend I actually buy), but if you are willing to plunk down a bit more money Té Bheag is also a very good dram. Unfiltered and (probably) no caramel aded either. It is 35$ for a 700ml bottle here in Quebec though, so it's not as if it's a whole lot cheaper than good entry-level single malts (Arran 10 years old for example), but it gives an example of a competent, distinctive blend that is not only made for drinking on the rocks or with soda.

Grants is nice and for around the same price in australia you can get J&B Rare blended whisky, Teachers highland cream or Bailie Nicol Jarvie which i have tried and liked them all.

I like Black Bottle okay, and Cutty Sark for mixing. I can get a bottle of JW black for about $35, and that's usually a better option for me than spending $10 less than that on Dewars, et al.

I just got a 700 ml Black Bush for $18 at the Togo Duty Free that is excellent. There does appear to be some batch variation as the previous bottle I purchased was not as good. Black Bush unfortunately does have caramel added but it is still pretty tasty.

I will second Black Bottle. Black & White is pretty good, too. Great King St. Artist Blend by Compass Box is very nice. It costs a bit more than most cheap blends but is less than most single malts.

Teacher's Highland Cream, Bell's Original, Ballantine's Finest, Famous Grouse, Grant's Family Reserve (particularly good) and Cutty Sark are all budget blends I have enjoyed. A little higher up the budget, JW Black and The Black Grouse are very good.
