Recently finished a bottle of Tomintoul 16 year old. Top notch, and at around £34 per 70cl bottle excellent value I reckon. What other Speyside whiskies would you rate as great value for money?

Aberlour A'bunadh is good value and widely available

@PeatAndMeat I nearly bought a bottle last week but was put off by the high ABV. Maybe i need to stop being a wuss and give it a go. Cheers.

I haven't had the pleasure of Tomintoul 16 yet, but for me the standard vfm Speysider is Strathisla 12.

@smokeybarrels I consider the Glenfarclas 15 a great VFM. However, I do not know how much will it set you back in the UK.

@two-bit-cowboy I'm hearing good thing about Strathisla 12yo, to which other malt would your compare it to?

@smokeybarrels I recommand adding water to it to bring it down to the ABV you are confortable with. What make A'bunadh a great VFM is its ABV, since with water, you can have even more whisky from the 70cl bottle.

I love the glendronach 12 YO and the glenlivet 12 YO is a classic that is more then affordable

@drinix I don't think Singleton of Glendullan is available where you are, but if you get a chance, try it. There are others I'm sure you can get, although for my taste Strathisla 12 betters these in value and enjoyment: BenRiach 12 and Cragganmore 12.

Thanks to all for your suggestions and reccomendations. A'bunadh, Glenfarclas 15, Strathisla 12 and Glendronach 12 have all been added to the shopping list. Cheers!

@two-bit-cowboy thanks for the tip- and give the Tomintoul 16 a try some time, it's quality. a slow burner but worth the perserverance..

Interesting bottle "Glenfarclas 21y". It is different from Glenfarclas 12y and 15y. You'll find THE SUMMER (citrus note). 60£. Have a new good dram

Just started my first Aberlour A'bunadh and may have found a new weakness for me in Speysides (normally, I'm a Highland drinker). An absolute gem, in my opinion.
