@Alucard, it would be helpful to know more about which style of Whisky you prefer - there is a nice sherry cask Mortlach from MacKillop´s Choice from ´89 in cask strength. Other suggestions: Clynelish´89 Gordon MacPhails Connoisseurs Choice; a nice Springbank from Douglas Laing´s Old Malt Cask Series, Balblair 1989 and last but not least a peaty one from Islay: Bowmore ´89 from Liquid Sun - a very nice one.

@maltster i have a wide taste of variets , but i prefer whisky's like : port askaig , springbank , tallisker , highland , old pultney

I just had a dig through the 1989 single malts on TWE and there aren't all that many.
For a smoky dram I second the Liquid Sun 1989 Bowmore - I've not tried it but have heard good things. The Balblair 1989 is also solid, and very affordable. If you can find it then a Lagavulin 1989 Distillers Edition should do you well.

hey, i'm currently looking for a whisky for my 23rd birthday to give to myself :p which is in December ( yes i know , that's still quite some time but i better start looking now)
so what i'm looking for actually is a whisky from the year 1989 , any suggestions ?
