Black Bottle Island Smoke

Black Bottle launched a new series in 2021: Alchemy Series. There are already 2 batches available. This is batch 2 that was christened Black Bottle Island Smoke. I assume that we can therefore expect a considerably smoky whisky.

Yes, that's nice, I must say. Oatmeal, fried banana, salted caramel, smoked ham, seaweed, brackish water and a hint of brown sugar. And something of freshly lit fireworks and freshly blackened wood. Excellent.

It is nice and oily and smoky and now also offers some vanilla and cough syrup. Becomes surprisingly sweet. Caramelized wood, allspice and licorice. Less pronounced Islay than the nose promised, but that does not alter the fact that I can really appreciate this.

The finish is medium length and very satisfying. Smoky, spicy, warm.

Nice winter dram. By far the best release. For 30 EUR this is a steal! Oh, do yourself a favor and make a Penicillin cocktail with this. You will thank me afterwards.
