Had a Dram with a good friend today. It's a Vatted Malt, no colouring, no chill filtration and no age statement. Each batch has a cask reference number.

Colour: Pale colour, kind of white wine.

Nose: Reminds me of an Ardbeg Ten but more aggressive due to the high strength. Lots of peat, less fruits and a decent sweetness.

Mouth: At full strength very peaty and sweet, a bit young and harsh. Still reminds me of an Ardbeg Ten but less complex. Water helps and brings more fruit notes. Still not for the faint-hearted. Medium long finish.

That's exactly what I expect from a young Islay Malt. Flawless, well balanced peat monster with a reasonable price at cask strength. Lacks a bit of complexity though. The batch I had could be a vatting of Ardbeg and Caol Ila? No medical/iodine notes you find in Laphroaig.
